Surrounded. I love painting portraits, there is something very beautiful about skin tone and the way it changes in different lights, shadows, contours and perception. I like to throw in some abstract colours but in an elegant and calculated manner to grasp the nature of the face. Elegance, femininity and soft romanticism all attempting to be captures in some portraiture work.
Lincoln Cathedral Oil on Board 20″x24″ inches I have enjoyed working on more architectural and structured work, alongside my wildlife and abstract art. I am always willing to try new techniques, approaches and appliqués. I hope to try out more landscape work soon!
My portraiture piece has come a little further along 🙂 I am enjoying throwing colours about in this one and seeing how they work together. Oil painting is just so relaxing!
Working on a portrait commission 🙂 happily using my new easel listening to pearl jam and red hot chili peppers
A collection of photographs from my first solo exhibition at the Sam Scorer Gallery…
My exhibition at the Sam Scorer Gallery is now finished!! After getting through 6 tubes of titanium white, 21 canvases, planning my subjects, funding, 2 newspaper features, painting with music and many cups of tea, installing, curating and invigilating by myself.. I can proudly say that my first ever solo exhibition went smoothly and was was very much enjoyed. I met some very fascinating/interesting/weird/lovely people and had wonderful feedback for my work. That mixed with sales and my good friend Alex’s gorgeous jewellery (photos to follow) made it a very fun two weeks 🙂 Thank you very much to everyone who came and were so supportive and lovely. Photos will follow
